-Action continues tomorrow at Orealla
Soesdyke Secondary showed little mercy during their 7-1 demolition of Diamond Secondary when the 6th annual Digicel Schools Football Championship continued yesterday, at the Leonora Synthetic Track Facility.
The East Bank-based side produced an impressive performance which was led by the diminutive Tyrone Khan, who fired in five goals that came in the eighth, 13th, 35th, 51st and 75th minutes.
He was supported by his brother Tyrell Khan and Shannon Samnauth, who each netted in the 40th and 80th minutes respectively.
On target for Diamond was Raphael Niles in the 11th minute.
Over at the Skeldon Ground in Berbice, Guysuco Training Centre defeated Tutorial Academy 2-0 through a brace from Lamar Reid in the 81st and 90th minutes.
Action in the event is slated to continue tomorrow with a lone game in Orealla that features the home team versus Siparuta.
The championship is being played in the traditional knockout format in every region with the final set for July 31, at the National Stadium in Providence.
The winning school will receive $1,000,000 toward the funding off a school project and the Championship trophy while second, third and fourth placed teams will collect $700,000, $400,000 and $350,000 respectively to go towards schools projects as well.
