Take on the Carib Boys tonight
Last Wednesday night at the GCC ground Bourda the finals of the best of three tournament between Floodlights XI and Team Speed took place with the Floodlights XI emerging winners.
The game which was witnessed by a large and enthusiastic crowd saw veteran softball player Wayne Jones hitting a brilliant 108 and well supported by the consistent Derick Ramoutar 48 as Floodlight XI amassed 239 in their allotted 25 overs. Ron Ramnauth was the best bowler for Team Speed with 3 wickets for 45 runs.
Team Speed in reply were always behind the run rate of 9.6 per over and were restricted for 178 for 9 when their 25 overs expired.
Patrick Khan was their best batsman with a fighting 78 not out while Rajendra Singh bowled admirably for the winners taking three wickets for 25 runs.
This final was sponsored by Steve Jewelry of Church Street, Georgetown.
Tonight the Carib Boys of beverage giant Ansa McAl Trading Ltd. will try their luck against the Floodlights XI at the GCC Ground Bourda starting 6:30pm.
