Mahaica and Clonbrook Primaries share honours as play continued in the Upper East Coast Demerara zone of the AL Sport & Tour Promotions NSC 22nd Annual End of School Year “Edward Cobenna Memorial” Primary Schools Windball Cricket Championships at the National Gymnasium.
The event is organised by NSC Sports Officer A. Munroe.
Mahaica Girls after being invited to bat, made 75-0, with Juanita Lynch hitting 29 and Ashana Pellew 19. Their opponents, Clonbrook, in reply were restricted to 67-2.
In the Boys department – Mahaica batted first and recorded 85 – 2, Darrell Benjamin made 16, while Rene Lewis took 2 wickets.
Cloonbrook replied with 86-2 to claimed victory.
Meanwhile, the Region 4 finals will be played on Monday 17th June at the National Gymnasium from 10:00am.
Boys teams involved are: Hararuni, Supply, Saint Anne’s, Craig, Clonbrook, Mahaica.
Girls Teams: Supply, Timehri, Saint Mary’s, New Diamond, Craig, Mahaica, Clonbrook.
And the action continues tomorrow June 10th with the Region 3 Schools competing from 10:00am.
