Shane Luckie fired in two goals to lead Royal Youths to a convincing 5-1 win over Hi Stars
which has propelled them into the top spot to date of the inaugural Corona Beer sponsored Guyana Beach Football Association, Beach Soccer League which continued on Saturday last at the Bayrock Beach Soccer Park, Bayrock, Linden.
Also hitting the target were Marvin Sullivan, Denzil Pryce and Taffawa Alexander. Netting the West Watooka based Hi Stars consolation goal was Leonard Peters.
The second match of the night produced a whopping 10 goals but it was evenly shared between Kuru Kururu Warriors and Cool Runnings in a 5-5 blitz. It was end to end action as both teams displayed a high degree of dislike for each other as they fearlessly attacked.
With about 40 seconds to game time, the Linden Soesdyke Highway based Warriors found themselves trailing 4-5 but one of their main brace, Ryan Scott delivered for them when he rocked the nets with the equalizing goal to ensure his side earned an equal share of the spoils.
Scott and his twin tower forward partner, Cordel Johnson were again the rocks that the Warriors stood on as they scored two goals each to maintain Kuru Kururu Warriors’ second placed position in the point’s standings. Kenroy Walker scored the other Warriors goal.
On target for Cool Runnings were Qualon Andries who also scored twice, Denzil Fordyce, Hussain Cumberbatch and Rodwyn Fraser.
This inaugural championship is set to conclude on Sunday at the Bayrock Beach Soccer Park, Bayrock in the Bauxite Mining Town of Linden with four matches kicking off at 17:30hrs.
