The Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) in conjunction with the Guyana Softball Floodlights Cricket Association will commission its lights installation on the 26th May.
The commissioning will take place under the distinguished patronage of the Honourable Dr. Frank Anthony MP, Minister of Youth Culture and Sport.
During the day there will be lots of entertainment and Bar-B-Que will be on sale. Coach Garvin Nedd will conduct a training session for under-13 cricketers which will be followed by an under-15 T20 match between DCC and GNIC Sports Club and music will be provided by Popular Sound System.
The Club extends a cordial invitation to the General Public and a small cover charge will be applied towards the continued Development of the Club’s Facilities. A release from the club stated that the lights will also benefit the community and it is hoped that this invitation will morph into an Annual Event in the Calendar of the larger National Independence Day Celebrations.
