Fireworks is anticipated at the Norman Singh memorial Turf Club today for their one day horserace meet in collaboration with the with the Shariff Racing Stable at No 6, Bel Air West Coast Berbice.
With nine races carded for the day, all systems are in place and a massive crowd is expected to descend on the venue as over 90 racehorses battle for their share of the $8M in prize money on offer.
The Feature C class event has a whopping $1,200,000 purse and trophy and a top class lineup has been assembled to do battle for the coveted prize. But, with the distance being a 1200M sprint, anything can happen.
The top notch line up reads The Message, Ferry Landing, Donut Prince, Grande the Roja, Majestic, Tiger Prospect, Jet Set Go, Who is on the Case, Exporter, Wad Luck and the newly imported Filcher out of the United States.
The 3yrs old 1200M event for Guyana and the West Indies bred horses has the best horses in that category lined up to compete for the $800,000 first prize and trophy with animals such as Better Than Gold, Captain Crook, Big Impact, Gabriel’s Gold, Sabrina’s Joy, Swing Easy, Technology, Work Force, Damascus Dream, Awesome Warrior, Northern dancer 11 and Peace and Love in contention.
The E and F Class race has $600,000 for the winner over 1100M should also has its fair share of fire works with Marathon Man, Home Bush baby, Dubai Duchess, Got To Go, Momzelle, Majestic and Prado’s Gold entered to compete.
The race for 2 yrs old West Indies bred horses has Serenity, Rosetta, Big Impact, Big Red, Settle in Seattle, It’s my time, Red Cloud, Something Stylish and Rock Sonia all in the running for the $400,000 top prize and trophy.
The 2 yrs old Guyana Bred event over 1100M has a top billing of $250,000 and trophy with Watch My Shadow, Joyful victory, Blessings, Cat Thief, Golden Reprise, Quincy’s Girl, Having a Nice Time, Speed Girl, Little Tip Top all looking to come big.
The G1 & Lower race will undoubtedly be one of the hottest race on the day featuring – Top of the Line, Maya, Appealing Harvest, Gabriel’s Gold, Zelona, La Rufin, Prado’s Gold, Momzelle, Ginger Bread and Coconut Boy among others over 1100M with the winning money of $250,000 and trophy.
I1 and Lower race has now been changed to 1200M with winnings set at $180,000. Princes Renuka, Infinity, Miracle Silver, Natural Mystic, Try again, Bounty Flyer, Kevin, Mona Lisa11, Clear Victory among others will battle.
I3 –3 yrs old & over Winner of 1 race only will be going over a distance of 1100M and the first prize set at $160,000. Flying Object, Little Spike, Miss Felicia, Cash Connection, Pleasant Surprise are in contention.
The final race on the day is for Division 1, 2 & 3 or the J, K&L horses over 1100M for the $120,000. Sporting Time, Domination, Lil Axe, Mr. Cool, Silver Kid, Black Tricks and Sport Again are in action.
The outstanding performers will be presented with accolades and trophies compliments of Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall Bourda Market and the organizers.
Among the organizations on board are Banks DIH Limited, Republic Bank, Digicel, Jumbo jet, Delmur Gold Shipping Company, Chris Jagdeo and Sons Construction, John Dere among others.
According to the organizers Mohammed Nankoo and Ghansham Singh the venue is in excellent condition, despite the rain, with systems in place and with all remedial work completed a rollicking day of racing is anticipated.
