Big Daddy, producers of top quality Gourmet American Burgers, yesterday donated an undisclosed sum of money to the Guyana team which will participate in this month’s Regional Super 50 cricket competition in Guyana and urged other business entities to jump on board with sponsorship for the team as Guyana aim for a ninth title and first since 2005.
Lionel Jaikarran, representing proprietor of Big Daddy’s Cindy Jaikarran, presented the cheque to Skipper Assad Fudadin after the team’s first practice match at Bourda yesterday and encouraged the public to come out and support the team during the competition which runs from October 19-29 as he told the players to
‘aim for the sky’ later this month.
Located on Parade Street opposite the Theater Guild, Big Daddy’s specializes in seven different types of Burgers in addition to Indian and Creole Lunches served between 11:00hrs to 15:00hrs each day.
Jaikarran, also the President of GCC which has three players on the team in Fudadin, his deputy Leon Johnson and Ramnaresh Sarwan, said all should rally around the team for it to really benefit from the home advantage and disclosed that Big Daddy’s Mobile Food service will soon be launched.
With Digicel as its premier sponsor, the National cricket team has also received sponsorship from Church’s Chicken, Banks DIH, Noble House Seafoods and Dave’s West Indian imports.
President of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Ramsay Ali says that more sponsors are anticipated during the coming weeks as Guyana aims to begin their march towards regaining Regional Cricket supremacy. (Sean Devers)
