Net-Rockers Football Club will host its Annual General Meeting (AGM) from 18:00hrs tomorrow at the Wisburg Secondary School Auditorium, Wisroc, Linden.
High on the agenda will be the elections of office bearers for the next year, 2011/2012.
The positions to be contested are: President, Vice President, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Secretary/Treasurer, Treasurer and Two Committee Members.
According to incumbent President Collis Gifth, their main focus is to strengthen the executive component of the club in order to be able to fortify every other facet of the organisation according to their mandate and constitution.
While the positions are open to anyone interested in running, Gifth noted that interested persons must understand that the positions are voluntary and will requires them to give of their time, service, energy and resources.
“We would like to have persons who can commit and function effectively in whatever position they are elected to serve, we don’t want names to fill these slots we need functionaries who can bring something to the table.
Our club is known for promoting youth football and has designed a five year plan that caters mostly for those youths since 80% of our members are under the age 23.”
Gifth also informed that shortly, former National Captain Charles ‘Lilly’ Pollard who is a founder member and product of the Net-Rockers FC will be launching his “I Got U” Foundation Football Academy through the club and they would need to have effective leaders who can embrace such programmes.
Gifth also commented on the performance of the club in 2010: “Our club has had a pretty decent year in 2010, we’ve achieved a lot and I must give credit to those who worked to make this happen but there are areas that we need to strengthen and our executive structure is the first and most important area because without a proper head the body cannot function.
That is why we are exploring every avenue to ensure that we have the right set of people to administrate the club because we have goals set for this club that we must achieve.”
