CEO of Star Party Rentals, Guyana and USA cricketer Lennox Cush yesterday said he was very elated to be on board the Kashif and Shanghai train for the second year, stating that it is undoubtedly the biggest football tournament in Guyana.
“We are very pleased to be a part of this tournament again and it is because we believe that has and continues to make a tremendous contribution to the development of the sport here. This tournament has matured over the years and as a company we would like to grow with it also.”
Yesterday at their Craig Street Campbellville Head Office, Manager Kester Abrams handed over a trophy and cheque to Co-Director of the Organisation Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major.
Star Party Rentals he said is the exclusive supplier of chairs, tents, tables and lights for all the games at the venues outside of the National Stadium. Abrams noted that even though they {Star Party Rentals} have been in operation for just over one year they’ve been very supportive of sports and its development in Guyana contributing to many other disciplines from time to time.
“We strive to do the best we can with regarding to supporting sports since we believe that it is our duty even though we are still a young company. Sports build a nation and with so many young players involved in this tournament it helps to make them more positive and also contributes to them living healthy lifestyles since they have to train hard to excel on the field.”
Cush is urging all the teams to be at their best during the tournament but warned that only one of the 20 teams will come out as victors. He also wished the organisers every success for the tournament which officially opens on Sunday the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
The National Under-20 team will oppose a Linden Under-23 side from 17:30hrs to be followed by the official opening and March Past of the participating teams.
The feature attraction of the evening will be the clash between the Guyana All Star team and Atletico Roraima of Brazil.
