– Lespierre, Giles arrive
The national Men’s and Women’s teams who’re also the defending NACRA champions wrapped up an intense round of training sessions on Monday, at the National Stadium under coaches Joe Whipple (Men) and Alton Agard (Women).
The Men’s team have been boosted by the arrival of overseas-based players Rupert Giles and Dominic Lespierre, who both participated in the sessions, while the others are expected in shortly for the tournament which starts this Saturday at the National Stadium.
Eight teams are expected to compete in the CAC Championships which runs until July 25, while the Women’s segment of the NACRA Tournament commences the following day.
At the completion of the women’s competition there will be a rest day with the men’s rivalry set to start on July 29-30.
The teams for the CAC tournament are Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Bahamas, Mexico, Guyana, Venezuela, Costa Rica and the Cayman Islands.
