The Guyana national football team, ‘Golden Jaguars’ roared to the inaugural Suriname Independence Anniversary football title after playing unbeaten in neighbouring Suriname yesterday.
The Guyanese stuck another needle in their opponents as they have done all tournament long to claim the top podium spot. Dirk Archer fired home for the Jaguars to seal the deal for them.
They had opened with victory over host Suriname in the opening clash, then turned back the challenge of Netherlands Antilles, thanks to goals scored by ‘the Tormentor’ Devon Millington in both games to separate them.
Full details on the match in tomorrow’s edition.
