When the Trix Under-17 football league kicked off yesterday morning at the GFC ground, jumping into the lead with 3 points each were Uprising and Fruta Conquerors who won their respective games easily.
Uprising behind a hat-trick from their captain, Stephon Dickson hammered Pele 5-1 while Conquerors thumped Santos 3-1.
After taking the lead in the 12th minute with the first of Dickson’s goals, Pele were able to fight back to the extent of equalizing in the 33rd minute, compliments of Jermain Sutton’s strike.
The second half however, was a different ball game as Uprising fired in 4 unanswered goals.
Dickson was on target again in the 44th and 45th minute.
Victor Miggins banged in his in the 48th, with Captain Marco Marcus formalising the victory with an effort of his own in the 55th.
The opening game saw Conquerors easily roll past Santos 3-1. Warren Lawrence in the 1st minute, Pernell Schultz in the 51st and Captain Eon Alleyne in the 69th, netted for the winners.
Santos’ consolation goal came off the boot of Devon Glasgow in the 60th. The competition continues on Saturday.
