Zeelandia defeated Sans Souci Jaguars, by 8 wickets at the Wakenaam Community Centre Ground as action in the Sterling Products sponsored 40-over cricket competition got underway with one match.
Sans Souci Jaguars batted first and made 129 all out in 36 overs. Gladwyn Henry 20 and Siddiq Mohamed 18 were the only batsmen that offered resistance, as Guyana Under-15 vice captain Ricardo Adams captured 3-22, while his uncle Dennis Adams took 3-18 and Darmin Pooran 2-16.
Jerry Adams top scored with an unbeaten 56 and skipper Navishaul Pooran made 34, while former Essequibo Under-19 player Olwin Paton took 2-20 for the Jaguars.
