Christmas plans for the Narayan family of Bamboo-Dam, Sparta, on the Essequibo Coast were thwarted when a family member died after being involved in an accident, on the La Belle Alliance Public Road, yesterday morning.
Police have identified the deceased as 36-year-old Navindra Narayan, also known as ‘Shinky’, a carpenter by profession. Initial reports have indicated that Narayan was said to be riding a CBR motorcycle along the La Belle Alliance Public road when he collided into the right side of Toyota Altezza car, PMM 8448, which was also proceeding South on the thoroughfare
Narayan died before receiving medical attention. Reports are the driver of the car was proceeding in front of Narayan when the motorcyclist attempted to overtake when he lost control and hit the car. Narayan was dragged into a nearby trench. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Suddie Public Hospital.
At his mother’s Savitree’s Sparta home, the saddened mother related that her eldest son (Navindra) had just finished eating and had left for Anna Regina with the intention of returning later Tuesday.
Savitree said she was making final preparations for Christmas Day and her grandson’s birthday, (which he will be celebrating tomorrow), when she received the sudden news of her son’s demise.
Police are continuing investigations.
Narayan’s death came mere days after 48-year-old Narine, of Airy-Hall, Essequibo Coast, lost his life after he rode into the path of a rice truck.
