A blistering 72 from Chemroy Kendall and 39 from Kevin Christian led ‘A’ Division to the third place spot defeating ‘D’ Division OKyesterday at Eve Leary in the Sixth Annual Commissioner of Police Birth Anniversary Inter-Division and Branches T20 Tournament.
Watched by the smallest crowd of the tournament, Kendall hit five sixes and seven fours in 72 in steaming heat on hard and rough outfield. Kendall, who executed several attacking shots, got support from Christian and Richard Allicock who made 17 as ‘A’ division galloped to 198 all out after they were in a strong position to produce a 200 plus total when they were 163-5.
Rodwayne Warde had 3-31 to finish with 17 wickets, the most in the tournament while David Hughes supported with 2-17 for ‘D’ Division who were bowled out for 138 to lose by 60-runs despite 29 from Ronald Alleyne.
‘F’ Division will clash with defending champions President’s Guard (PG) on Saturday at the Eve Leary ground from noon in the championship match. PG are eyeing their third title in their fourth final, but ‘F’ Division, the only unbeaten team in the tournament, will start as favourites to take their first title.
