The finals of the Junior Shield (U20) and Senior Cup of the inaugural BV/Triumph 8th of May Movement Emancipation Cohesion Football League, will be played today at the BV Play-ground, which is situated on Republic Drive, Beterverwagting. Both finals would follow the third place play-offs of the respective youth and senior leagues.
Today from 11:00 hours at the BV Play-ground, Tucville will engage Mahaica in the third placed Junior Shield (U20) play-offs, while the final between Mahaicony and BV will commence from 13:00 hours. On conclusion of the Junior Shield (U20) final, there will be the final of the skill exercise, which will witness Tucville’s Kadeem Blackman, Mahaica’ Joseph DeFreitas and BV’s Ian Dooker vying to attain the coveted title of Doving Champion, and right to walk away with $20, 000 and trophy. At the end of the Doving action, Assistant Director of Sport, Melissa Dow-Richardson would present the players of the Junior Shield (U20) champion team with medals.
Thereafter, the third placed Play-offs in the Senior Cup Football League will be contested between Tucville and Mahaica from 15:00 hours.
The final of the Senior League between BV and Eastveldt will start at 17:00 hours; on conclusion of which, the Director of Sport, Mr. Christopher Jones with grace the presentation party, to do the honours of bestowing the players of the champion team will their accolades.
