The Ramnaresh Sarwan Second Division 40 overs cricket competition is continuing in the Upper Corentyne area. The competition which is sponsored by former West Indies Captain Ramnaresh Sarwan is being organised by the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA) and is for teams in the Upper Corentyne and Black Bush areas.
Results of some of the latest round of matches played: – No 72 Cut and Load defeated NO 73 Young Warriors by four wickets.
Young Warriors batted first and were bowled out for 125 in 30 overs with Gobin Rajram 32, Lakeram Latchman and Chan Ramjass 21 each.
Bowling for Cut and Load R. Persaud picked up 3 wickets, while there were 2 each for Ricky Persad and Abdulla Ajib. They reached 126-6 in 24.4 overs with Persad striking 62 (5×4, 4×6).
Ganesh Singh picked up 3 wickets, while there were 2 for Latchman.
No78 A Warriors defeated Scottsburg United by 69 runs after scoring 195 in 30 overs with Davendra Budhoo 43, Omesh Khemraj 42 and Ryan Yacoob 29 the main scorers.
Bowling for Scottsburg James Heart picked up 5-28. They in reply were bowled out for 126 in 24 overs with M. Kendall 60 (5×4, 4×6) and Alex Burnett 33. R. Yacoob was the main destroyer with 5-40, he was supported by D. Budhoo and Naeem Yacoob with 2 each.
Crabwood Creek Bomb Squad defeated No71 Sports Club by four wickets.
NO71 made 145with S. Singh 86 (7×4, 7×6).
Bowling for CWC Bomb Squad there were 3 wickets each for G. Doorgan and A. Hussein, while T. Ramsammy picked up 2. They them compiled 147-6 with T. Noormohamed 29, T. Ramsammy and T. Shivamber 25 each.
Bowling for No71 there was 3 wickets for K. Roop, while N. Alli picked up 2.
In another games, No 72 All Stars defeated Jukestown Warriors by 2 wickets. Jukestown were bowled out for 83 in 18.4 overs with none of the batsmen passing 20.
Bowling for No72 All Stars F. Chatterpaul led the way with 5-15, while T. Gobin supported with 2.
In their turn at the wickets No72 All Stars had to fight for their runs and ended on 84-in 16 overs with none of their batsmen either reaching 20. Bowling for Jukestown Warriors, C. Beresford led the way with 4 wickets, while J. Byass snared 3.
