Vishwanauth Lutchman, Imtiaz Mohamed and Parsram Persaud turned in outstanding performances as Floodlights and Regal Masters registered victories when the latest round of matches in Mike’s Pharmacy, Trophy Stall and Nauth Motor Spares 20-over softball tournament concluded on Sunday last at DCC.
Playing in the Masters category, Floodlights defeated Fisherman Masters by 57 runs. Floodlights batted first and posted 160-5. Vishwanauth Lutchman struck 58 not out while John Sumair made 35 and Ramesh Narine 23. Robert Mohan claimed 2-25. Fisherman Masters responded with 103 all out in 14 overs. Unnis Yusuf made 23 as Imtiaz Mohamed captured 4-29, Clive Canterbury 2-14 and Rabindra Singh 2-28.
Regal Masters beat Ariel Masters by four wickets. Ariel Masters were bowled out for 106 in 18.5 overs. Mohamed Rafeek made 40; Parsram Persaud grabbed 5-8. Regal Masters replied with 110-6 in 19.4 overs. Mohendra Arjune scored 32 not out; Doodnauth Ramdeen snared 4-23.
The competition continues on Sunday at the said venue. On pitch one at 10:00hrs Floodlights will play Regal Masters and Speed Boat will take on Regal Allstars at 13:00hrs.
On pitch two at 10:00hrs Wellman will face Sunrisers and at 13:00hrs Success will challenge Farm.
