Police have detained a 40-year-old mason who was allegedly nabbed yesterday with an unlicensed .32 pistol, two magazines, 17 live rounds of ammunition and 82 grammes of cannabis.
The arrest was made at around 13.00hrs yesterday in Albouys Street, Albouystown.
A release stated that the suspect, on seeing the police ranks, immediately dropped a bag containing the illegal items and attempted to scale a fence but was quickly apprehended. He is being processed for court.
