The second edition of the Annual Petra Organisation-organised Soft Shoe Football Competition which is being sponsored by the Ministry of Health under the ‘Stop Gender-based Violence’ theme will no longer start tonight as was previously advertised.
This is according to Petra Organisation Co-Director Troy Mendonca, who spoke to Kaieteur Sport via telephone yesterday.
Mendonca said that due to the continued rainfall, the venue, the Ministry of Health ground on Brickdam & Vlissingen Road cannot be prepared in time for tonight’s commencement therby forcing the Organisers to push back the games for next Monday, at the same location weather permitting.
Six matches are carded for the night with defending champion Sparta Boss lined up to take on California Square in the final encounter of the evening.
