Motorcyclist, Kelvin Balgobin, 29, of Williamsburg Squatting area, lost his life in a late night accident at the
Borlam (#19) Public Road around 23: hrs Sunday night.
According to reports, Balgobin who had been imbibing alcohol, allegedly missed the Borlam turn and lost control of his motorcycle which crashed into a lamp post.
He sustained severe injuries, was picked up by public spirited citizens and rushed to the Port Mourant Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Kaieteur News understands that the man’s wife and two children live at Number Nineteen Village, and that he usually visits them. From indications the man was on his way to make one of his regular visits when he met his death. Kelvin Balgobin was a fitter machinist at the Albion Estate.
This is the second accident to have occurred in a short space of time at the very spot in less than two weeks. Investigations are continuing.
