The final leg of the Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) will
be graced by the former Caribbean champion Jamaican David Summerbell Jnr and Barbadian Stuart Maloney, who’ve both confirmed participation for the November 16 event which will be staged in Guyana, at the South Dakota Circuit.
Summerbell Jnr, who is widely considered as amongst the best pure race car drivers in the Caribbean will be coming to compete against one of the young emerging drivers in the region in Guyana’s Kristian Jeffrey, who leads the Caribbean Series after the two legs in Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago respectively.
The promising young driver has been enjoying an incredible season so far since making his impressive debut at the CMRC in Barbados earlier this year and is a hot favourite to grab the regional title in his first attempt.
The multi-talented sportsman is a former karting champion and national Squash champion and his success to date means that he has managed to transform his outstanding exploits from the other disciplines on to the track both in the Caribbean and Canada.
The young speedster no doubt has his sights already set on dominating home turf which would place the ‘Land of Many Waters’ as it positions itself to win the overall Country title.
Jeffrey, who leads the current points standing in the Individual category, occupies pole position
with 85 points and he is followed by another Guyanese Danny Persaud on 74, while another native of Guyana Paul Vieira lies in third on 43.
In the Country points standing, T&T leads with 314 followed by Barbados on 300, Guyana third on 297 and Jamaica in the cellar with 151.
