A fine all-round performance from former National youth cricketer Clive Andries spearheaded Buxton to a convincing 42-run victory against Lusignan in latest action in the East Coast Cricket Board Rockaway Major League competition.
The versatile Andries, who last represented Guyana in cricket during the 2008 Regional under-19 series in St Kitts, top scored with a shot-filled 53 and got support from Daryl Fredericks (23) as Buxton were dismissed for 142 in 32 overs on a two-paced track with moisture.
Kris Bisoondyal took 4-28 and got support from Imran Khan (3-23) and Dale Hamilton (2-25) for Lusignan who were bowled out for 100 in 27 overs.
The 22-year-old Andries, who now represents the National Senior and under-23 Football teams as a Striker, returned with the ball to take 4-15 from seven overs of off-spin while Rawle Fredericks had 4-30 from six overs as only Azim Haniff with 27 passed 15 for Lusignan.
A major turning point in the game was the dismissal of talented National youth left-hander Brian Sattaur for 12 just when he was beginning to look ominous. (Sean Devers)
