St Joseph High School yesterday hosted a mini food exhibition on the lawns of the institution. Pupils of grade nine to eleven were solely responsible for making the event a success. The move is the first of its kind for the school, and was well received by the participating novices.
According to a female teacher from the school’s Home Economics Department, the exhibition was also supported by the Carnegie School of Home Economics.
She confirmed that all the items used in the preparation of the dishes were locally produced.
Asked how the ingredients were accumulated, she replied that the students financed the venture themselves with the aid of their respective parents. Plans are already in the pipeline to make the event an annual one.
