Grove defeated Herstelling 56-51 when action in the National Sports Commission/Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports sponsored Inter Village Knockout basketball competition got underway at the Samantha Point Basketball court, Sunday June 27 last.
Sherwyn Kyte contributed 20 points with support from Travis Klass (12) and Devon Browne (10).
Samantha Point then enjoyed the home advantage over Supply/Soesdyke and took advantage winning 54-52. Sherman Oxford contributed 19 points for the winners while Clarence Blackman and Conrad Simon supported with 10 points apiece.
In the final game for the day Mocha Arcadia earned a walk over after Bagotstown failed to show up for the match.
The competition continues on Sunday April 4 with prospect taking on Diamond New Scheme at the same venue.
