Police are looking for an 18-year-old woman whose boyfriend shot her in the hip during a heated argument at Jeep Landing Kwakwani waterfront about 22:00 hours, Sunday night.
The woman, Ann Louden, took her own discharge from the Mckenzie Hospital yesterday, after she was transferred from the Kwakwani Hospital where she was initially admitted immediately after the shooting.
Police said that Louden, of Lamp Island, Kwakwani was shot by her boyfriend who was armed with a gun belonging to a private security company to which he is attached.
According to reports reaching this newspaper, the man was on company business when he tried to contact Louden on her cellular phone but got no answer.
When he eventually made contact with her, a heated argument ensued during which he reportedly shot her.
The suspect has been arrested and is assisting with the investigations.
But yesterday when detectives went to the hospital to obtain a statement from the woman she had disappeared.
