The Parfait Harmony Martial Arts Academy (PHMAA) featuring the youngest and smallest athletes of all the branches, turned in creditable performances at the just concluded Little Diamond International Martial Arts Academy (LDIMAA) tournament held at the Enmore Community Centre, August 23-24.
All the LDIMAA branches were outstanding in their performances, PHMAA snapped up seven (7) medals (6 gold 1 silver) from their six (6) students which participated.
Arianna Etwaroo won gold in the 6-9 years female Kumite (fighting) division. In the 6-9 and 10-12 years male Kata divisions, Matthias Ignatius and Reyanard Etwaroo won gold, respectively.
Antonio Caesar also won gold in the 16-19 years Kata category.
Moses and Marlon Ignatius both achieved gold medals in the 13-15 and 16-19 years Kumite (fighting) divisions.
Marlon Ignatius, 1st KYU Brown belt athlete won the full contact fight against a 2nd Dan Black belt athlete from Suriname, an outstanding achievement.
Shihan Nazim Yassim said that he is very proud of this branch for turning in such encouraging performances.
Marlon and Moses Ignatius along Arianna and Reyanard Etwaroo will now turn their focus to the next competition which is slated for Suriname on September 6, next.
