Members and their guests came out in droves on Sunday for the Safeway Security Pro Am Tournament at Lusignan Golf Club. Despite some soggy conditions the morning start saw bright sunshine for the 18 teams each consisting of a member and his guest.
The format was better ball over nine holes where each player gets to hit and they choose from which spot to play the next shots.
First place went to Brian Hackett/David Patterson with a score of net 30.
Muntaz Haniff/Azad Haniff copped second place with net 31. Three pairs ended at net 32 but N. Khan (Mighty Raja) and Sureen prevailed to take third place on a countback.
Patrick Prashad /Craig Morrison placed fourth, while and Troy Cadogan /Terrence Wills ended fifth.
Managing Director Eon Caesar, a long time supporter of the club was finally out on the course himself with Ian Gouveia and hinted that he may start to play more seriously. Club President Brian Hackett thanked Caesar for his generous sponsorship that included a greatly appreciated happy hour and barbeque.
Meanwhile, Vice President of LGC Patrick Prashad thanked all the guests for coming out to try the game and announced that each of them are to be offered two free golf lessons.
