The Rupununi (Region 9) female footballers are in town for matches in the Women’s Inter Association football competition currently being played.
Yesterday Linden and East Coast fought it out at the MSC ground.
Both teams are yet to secure a win with East Coast on 1 point and Linden on 0 point. Both teams had travelled to Lethem recently and opposed Rupununi in their last games with East Coast earning a 1-1 draw and Linden losing 2-nil.
Today from 2:00pm at the GFC Ground, Rupununi will collide with Bartica and a keenly contested match is anticipated between the two sides from the hinterland. Both possess talented players and fans can expect them to go all out to improve on their respective points standing.
On Tuesday from 4:00pm at the GFC, Georgetown and Rupununi are set to clash in a game involving the League leaders; a keen and exciting game is in the making.
On Wednesday action switches to Linden at the MSC commencing at 4:00pm; Linden oppose Bartica.
And in the final Female game in the 1st Round, Georgetown come up against Linden at the GFC Ground on Saturday May 29.
The Rupununi lasses travelled via bus from Lethem for their engagements in the city on Friday.
