Herstelling Raiders made it two out of two when they knocked off Craig 3-0 as play in the Lens Craft Optical sponsored East Bank Football Association Under-13 league continued on Saturday last at the Grove Playfield.
Grove rebounded from their first day loss to Herstelling with a 1-0 win over Agricola Red Triangle, their first loss while Diamond United also reversed their loss on day one by claiming full point’s compliments of a 2-1 win over Kuru Kururu Warriors.
Herstelling were led to victory and the top of the points table by Royston Kennedy who scored two goals, hitting the back of the nets in the 48th and 56th minute. Shoran James who hit in the lone and winning goal against Grove on day 1 was again on the score sheets with the third goal in the 58th minute.
Craig did well to keep Herstelling at bay for the entire first half of 30 minutes but could not hold back their opponents in the second half.
Grove Hi Tech’s lone and winning goal came off the boot of Akeem Williams in the 29th minute.
Despite falling behind in the 16th minute when Kuru Kururu Warriors opened the scoring thorugh a Kevon Scott goal, Diamond United clawed their way back to take full points. Teon Forde scored the equalizer in the 19th minute with the winning goal coming from Sean pickering in the 46th minute. Action will continue tomorrow with three more matches at the same venue.
