Seal B/ball Classic Final Four
There was no way that Courts Pacesetters were prepared to allow a team whose existence is extremely questionable to defeat them and as such, the defending Brusche’s Basketball Classic champions adequately tuned up Monday night.
Pacesetters played Eagles – an unseeded team that has questionable accreditation to parent body for basketball in the city, the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) and won 69-55 with little or no threat whatsoever.
Veteran national forward Naylon Loncke scored 19 points while Royston Siland had a 14 point performance and Hugh Arthur 10 as Pacesetters won all four periods with the initial three ending 17-12, 34-24 and 47-41 in favour of them.
Dane Kendal finished with 13 points for Eagles while Adrian Hooper and Mark Wills had 10 and nine points respectively for the team that was surprisingly invited to the Division I competition that is in its second year of existence.
Pacesetters will now play Ravens in the first group after the Dyna’s-sponsored club eased to the Final Four against Jets Sunday night.
Georgetown’s number one and two Division I clubs will play for a place in the final as a result.
The Ravens/Pacesetters clash Friday night is expected to be nothing less than entertaining since both teams have old grievances. Pistons and Bulls rounded off the other two semi-final spots in the Final Four of the tournament.
