Cultural Cricket Club, which is sponsored by Salim Azeez, would be looking for their first major title since their resuscitation some five years ago. They have reached many quarter-finals and semi-finals before but have never been able to cross the final hurdle.
Their job would not be made light by Meten-Meer-Zorg West however, who have dominated West Demerara Cricket in the past.
The final between these teams is set for Sunday, November 2, at the Canal No. 2 Sports Club. The organizers are planning a festive event as all the other finals have been in the past three years.
Winners of this tournament will receive a coveted trophy and $100,000 while the second placed team will receive a trophy and pocket $50,000.
Cash prize totaling $25,000 would also go towards individual performances in the area of batting, bowling, fielding, wicketkeeping and for the man-of-the-series.
