Contracts totalling $750M have been awarded to contractors for the construction and in some cases, the rehabilitation of roads in three Administrative Regions.
During the post-Cabinet press briefings yesterday in Georgetown, the State Minister Joseph Harmon announced the award of 24 contracts for projects in Regions Three (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara); Four (Demerara/Mahaica) and 10 (Upper Demerara/Upper Berbice).These works, the Minister said, are part of Government’s ongoing programme to construct and/or rehabilitate urban and miscellaneous roads in all communities across Guyana. “This is part of a greater commitment to enhance the infrastructure in rural and urban communities across the country so as to improve the quality of life for all our citizens,” he said.
