The Guyana Amateur Weightlifting Association’s (GAWA) two-day beginners’ coaching course ended on Sunday at the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) Headquarters in Kingston with 14 participants taking part in the workshop.
The course was made possible through the United States of America Weightlifting Federation as part of a commitment made to GAWA at the Pan American Weightlifting Congress in Mexico City in February.
Kyle Pierce was the facilitator of the course at Olympic House. Pierce is an International Weightlifting Federation-accredited international coach.
The participants were introduced to the new methodology in coaching for beginners with information on anti-doping and other regulatory being discussed.
The GAWA thanked the President and members of GOA their support in making the course the success that it was.
