The 2010 Spready’s bakery Under-19, 50-Over Cricket Competition continued recently in Berbice.
Turning in one of the best batting performances of the competition so far was Ryan Chan of Flying Star of Kortheberaadt, East Bank Berbice. He slammed an unbeaten 176 against Sisters, equaling the highest score in the competition made by Steven De Freitas of Police in an earlier round.
Chan’s knock which included 20 fours and 4 sixes together with 124 (20 fours and 2 sixes) from Carl Barran enabled Flying Star to amass 396 for 3 in their 40-Overs. The pair featured in a 285 run 2nd wicket stand.
When Sisters replied, they were skittled out for 98 with Flying Star medium pacer Kenny Durant picking up 5-36.
