The transportation and crime fighting capacity of the ‘B’ Division of the Guyana Police Force was on Thursday boosted with the addition of the brand new motor cycle.
Businessman Fizal Ally Proprietor of A. Ally and Sons General Store in New Amsterdam made good on a promise as he donated a Shineray Urban 150 motorcycle to the Guyana Police Force ‘B’ Division.
The simple yet significant ceremony was done in front of the Head Office of the store at Main Street and Coopers Lane, New Amsterdam. Ally made the donation to Commander ‘B’ Division Assistant Commissioner Paul Langevine.
Accompanying the Commander to the activity were Deputy Commander Senior Superintendent Phillip Azore, Traffic Officer Deputy Superintendent Timothy Williams, and Detective Divisional Officer Assistant Superintendent E. Baird. Also present were a number of staff of the entity.
Mr. Ally noted that the bike is being given to the organization to assist with the continued fight against crime throughout the Division. He pledged his and the store’s continued support to the police. The businessman also committed to the maintenance of the motorcycle.
Commander Langevine expressed his gratitude to the Businessman and his entity for the donation. He stated that the donation is very significant. It will go a long way toward maintaining law and order and the fight against crime.
He assured Ally that the bike will be used and taken good care of. Maintenance will be optimal, he added.
