With two unlikely teams set to contest the final of the fourth annual Corona Futsal Competition 2019, the showdown is expected to be monumental the evening. The captains of Tiger Bay and Back Circle both declared their respective teams as winners.
Co-Director of the Petra Organization, promoters of the event, Troy Mendonca, said today’s final will be an event that every football fan will want to witness.
Both Back Circle and Tiger Bay although reaching the quarterfinal and semifinal stage on previous occasions have never met each other in a final.
In the 2019 edition, both sides have showcased good fighting spirit, which will make for a thrilling final.
Back Circle and Tiger Bay are battling for a chance to cop the half a million dollar grand prize. The loser in that encounter will have to settle for the $250,000 second place prize. The third place showdown will feature Bent Street and Future Stars vying for $125,000. While the fourth place team receives $75,000.
Dean Alfred, who leads the goal scorers table with 15 goals, is a good contender for the MVP prize which is a Hero Honda 150cc motorcycle that is being sponsored by the official local distributors of the brand; Rose Ramdehol Auto Sales, located on South Road. Top Brandz is the major sponsor of the event under their Corona Beer brand.
