The Kendall’s Union Sports Club has vowed to move away from being the traditional sports club and delved into community and other activities.
The Club which has developed over the years from just a cricket club to a sports club is situated at No19 Village East Coast, Berbice.
Over the years it has been involved in a number of community activities including programmes for school children and the elderly.
The club on the 18 November held it first blood drive in collaboration with the New Amsterdam Hospital (Blood Bank). The activity was held at the Club Pavillion and included members of the club and community.
According to club president Albert Budhoo the activity was very successful and the club aims to do similar exercises in the future.
The club would like to thank those who came on board and donated blood. He will also like to thank the Health Officials who teamed up with them to make the activity possible and the success it was.
