A serving member of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) was brought before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ court to answer two counts of obtaining money corruptly.
It is alleged that on June 15, at the Georgetown Seawall, Colin Rodney 33, of Lot 17 Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, Georgetown, engaged in a corrupt transaction by accepting money from Hushan Mana and Laeede Gopie.
Rodney was represented by Attorney Patrice Henry who requested that his client be released on self bail since he is still on active duty.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones did not disclose the facts of the matter to the court and did not object to bail.
Rodney was ordered to post $15,000 bail on each count. He will make his next court appearance on October 19.
