The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) has confirmed the schedule for Bermuda’s National Men’s Basketball Team tour to Guyana
during March 10-15, for a three-game series at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall against Guyana’s National Team.
A release from the federation stated that the visit from one of the top teams in the Caribbean will have an immense benefit to Guyana. The series will serve as a litmus test for Guyanese players, who will represent Guyana at the Caribbean Championships in June.
“Aside from having Bermuda, one of the premier Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Teams, showcase their skills to the Guyanese public, Guyana will have a wonderful opportunity to compete and display their basketball skills on home soil,” the association noted in a release.
The Caribbean Championships are scheduled for the British Virgin Islands, June 7-21 while the dates released yesterday for the Bermuda vs. Guyana showdown are Wednesday, March 11, Thursday March 12 and Saturday March 14 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall as per schedule below:
Tuesday, March 10, 2015: Meet and greet with GABF.
Wednesday, March 11, 2015: Morning practice, evening game.
Thursday, March 12, 2015: Morning practice, evening game.
Friday, March 13, 2015: Morning practice, sightseeing and free evening.
Saturday March 14, 2015: Morning practice, final evening game.
The GABF will be holding a meeting on Saturday and the key agenda items include the following: Review of 2014, Bermuda Men National Basketball Team Visit 10-15 March 2015, Identifying National Coach for Bermuda Visit, Road to Mecca 11 Marketing and Management, CBC 2015 Championships in BVI – June 7-21, 2015, Schools Basketball Exchange Program – 2015, 2015 IGG – Basketball, CBC Congress – Jan 30- Feb 1, 2015 – GABF President to Attend, Basketball Gear, Basketball Facilities.
