A Guyanese, Howard Earl, has been charged for allegedly practicing medicine in St. Lucia without a proper licence and not being a registered medical practitioner, according to the whatsupcaribbean.com website yesterday.
The office used by Earl to practise his illegal activities has been closed by police and all the equipment at the location has been confiscated.
Law enforcement officials also closed a number of other clinics and medical businesses operated by the defendant.
He was granted $5000 dollar bail or suitable surety on each charge when he made his first court appearance on Tuesday morning.
