St. John’s, Antigua – The Selection Committee of the West Indies Cricket Board yesterday announced the 13-member squad for the first Digicel Test against New Zealand, starting on Wednesday, July 25, at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.
Guyanese Narsingh Deonarine and Assad Fudadin have been named in that squad following their recent performance against New Zealand playing for the WI President’s XI. Both players have also been in good form that has attracted the attention of the selectors.
The Squad: Darren Sammy (captain), Denesh Ramdin (vice captain), Adrian Barath, Tino Best, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Narsingh Deonarine, Assad Fudadin, Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Kieran Powell, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach and Marlon Samuels.
