Georgetown based company Farfan & Mendes Limited (FML) has renewed sponsorship
of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Under-15 cricket team for the 15th consecutive year. The Company became the official sponsor of the Rose Hall Town Farfan & Mendes team in 1997 and in 2012 would be sponsoring the Berbice Under-15 Champions at the cost of $180,000.
Secretary/CEO of the Club Hilbert Foster at the presentation praised the excellent relationship/partnership between the club and the company; describing FML as an entity that has contributed to building a firm foundation which has allowed the RHTY&SC to succeed over the years.
The Under-15 team has won the Berbice championship four-times and has been runner-up on three occasions. The team has also produced numerous National Under-15 players including Assad Fudadin, Royston Crandon, Shawn Pereira, Murphy La Rose, Arif Chan, Abdel Fudadin, Dominic Rikhi and Parmanand Narine while a total of 27 players have represented Berbice. Foster reminded that Arif Chan represented Guyana last year while 13-year old Phaffiana Millington was in the Guyana Female team.
The Rose Hall Town Farfan & Mendes team is the defending Berbice Under-15 champions having won the last two Tenelec Inc. tournaments organised by the Berbice Cricket Board and Foster assured the Company that the Club and the team would continue to dominate cricket in the Ancient County while the members of the team has set themselves a target of 15 self-developmental programmes that would make positive differences in the lives of their peers.
Daniel Lewis is the Captain of the team for 2012 while Brandon Prashad would serve as his deputy.
