Lions XI edge Strathaven, will meet Enterprise in semifinal
In the two quarterfinals matches played over the weekend at the Lusignan Community Centre and Strathaven Cricket Ground, aggressive batting from S. Bharat powered Lusignan past Plaisance in CARIB 20/20 quarterfinal.
Electing to bat first Plaisance could only muster 113 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs, McPherson scoring 37 and J. Perry 24. Bowling for Lusignan, A. Hannif took 2 for 21 and R. Nickbarran 2 for 19.
Lusignan in reply hit off the runs in 12 overs ending on 119 for 2, with S. Bharat scoring 45 not out, supported by V Ramjit 22 and H. Hira 24. Bowling for Plaisance J. Tyler took 2 for 14. Defending champion Lusignan will advance to the final.
In the other game played at the Strathaven ground Lions X1 edged past Strathaven Cricket club.
Batting first Strathaven scored 63 all out in 19.3 overs with C. Henry scoring 22. R Rajmangal took 2-12 for the Lions. Lions X1 in reply scored 64 for 8 in 18.4 overs with M. Rajmangal scoring 14. Bowling for Strathaven G. Henry took 2 for 15 and C. Henry 2 for 8.
Lions X1 will now have to play Enterprise Busta Cricket Club to stake a place in the final.
This game is slated for Enterprise ground on Sunday April 24 starting at 11:00am with Umpires G. Sookdeo and Robert Pacer Adonis calling play.
