St Winefrides Secondary School located at Garnett Street Newtown, is being upgraded to improved students facilities to enhance children’s education.
The school, which is in need of repairs, is making way to implement the Secondary School Compensatory Based Programme which is due to start in November.
When Kaieteur News contacted Minister within the Ministry of Education, Dr Desery Fox, she said that the programme being undertaken in November is to be implemented to enhance facilities at the school, and at present she needs to enquire in more details of the program and its present works.
The school had to be extended to accommodate more students almost two years ago.
Students at the school said the noises made during school hours while the carpenters are doing their repairs are disruptive, disturbing and at times break their focus.
