Kaieteur News – The Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday announced the deaths of two more persons due to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease. According to the Ministry, the latest fatalities are that of a 68-year-old woman from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) and a 55-year-old man from Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne).
Both persons died on Tuesday while receiving treatment at a medical facility. As a result of this, the country’s COVID-19 death toll has moved to 454.
Further, the Health Ministry in its daily COVID-19 dashboard recorded 125 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 19,359.
The dashboard revealed too that 20 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 115 persons are in institutional isolation, 1,473 in home isolation and eight are in institutional quarantine. To date, a total of 17,297 have recovered from the virus.
