The 2020 Bounty Farm Ltd Handicap Squash Tournament continued on Thursday evening at the Georgetown Club, with round of sixteen matches in the Open Category, quarter final matches in Category A and plate matches in both categories.
In the Open category Nicholas Narain (-15) had to pull out all the stops to overcome the challenge of Medhi Ramdhani (6) winning in three close games 15 – 10, 11 – 15, 15 – 12, while Peter Michael De Groot (-15) had a surprising straight forward win in his match with Abosaide Cadogan (0) scores being 15 – 9, 15 – 8. Brian Edwards (9) took care of Kirsten Gomes (0) 15 – 13, 15 – 9 and Louis da Silva (10) stunned Ashley Khalil (-7) 15 – 3, 15 – 13.
In category A Rayad Boyce (5) had to call on all his reserves to overcome Tiana Gomes (13) 15 – 13, 5 – 15, 15 – 14 and in a battle between the two Fernandes siblings Grant (10) beat Beau (7) 15 – 7, 15 – 14. Lajuan Munroe (2) again had another match go down to the wire as he defeated Nathan Rahaman (5) 15 – 9, 12 – 15, 15 – 14 and in the last of the quarter final matches Dhiren Persaud (3) beat Kassie Walcott (13) 15 – 12, 15 – 12.
