Founder of the Jefford Track and Field Classic, Edison Jefford donated a quantity of medals and trophies to the Upper Demerara/Kwakwani District 10 for the Under-20 category at their Inter-Schools Track and Field Championships this week at the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground.
Jefford said that he quickly accepted the request to support the defending champions at the National Schools Championships because of his commitment to continue to contribute to the development of sports in the region and in Guyana.
He congratulated the District and wished all the athletes well in their quest to represent the region. District Representative, Christine Sampson thanked Jefford for the contribution, adding that such support will help the region prepare for the upcoming challenge of defending their title at the National Schools Championships in November.
