Red-faced: The Queen Victoria statue at the Supreme Court compound, Avenue of the Republic, was drenched with red paint over the weekend.
Yesterday, there were moves underway to clean it.
There has been debate whether the statue, a reminder of the colonial days when Britain ruled Guyana, should be removed. It was dumped at one time behind the Botanical Gardens but fixed and placed in the Court Compound. (Mark Jacobs photo)
