The Guyana Mixed Martial Arts Karate Association (GMMAKA) formerly known as Great Diamond Martial Arts Academy (GDMAA) successfully concluded their first annual examination on Sunday last at the New Diamond/Grove Primary School, Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank of Demerara.
A total of 45 students participated with each coming out successful. Saif Ally, Tyrese Benons, Joshua Da Silva, Alexandra Deen, Asefeyah Rahaman, Safeyah Rahaman, Sherry Shamsudeen and Ramnaresh Persaud were all promoted to 10KYU Yellow Belt rank.
Vikash Roopnarine, Akash Roopnarine, Prameshwar Harripershad and Dominique Doodnauth successfully completed the 9KYU Orange Belt examination while Shiv Ferriera, David Chow, Judah Chow, Mark Ferriera, Obama Prosper, Terrence Gonsalaves and Joseph Da Silva got promoted to 8KYU Green.
Attaining the 7KYU Green Belt status were Aditya Basdeo, Sachin Ram and Jamar Pile while Randolph Chrisen, Shamar Francis and Azariah Duncan ascended to the 6KYU Blue Belt. Other rank promotions included Darshan Dairam and Roman Pollard to 5KYU Purple, Altaf Singh to 4KYU Purple, Divendra Singh to 6KYU Blue.
The recipients of the highest issued ranks on Sunday, 3KYU Brown Belt were Isiah Busby, Tyrese Harris, Chandrapaul Sukhu, Adrian Rambarran, Mahendra Gorakh, Someshram Banasar, Chateram Ramdial and James Downe.
Master Lloyd Ramnarine was the Chief Examiner and he congratulated all the students that did extremely well while encouraging them to continue working hard. The Master extended special thanks to the sponsors for their generous donations.
